it's going to be fun. invite friends and as always, bring your monkeys. (by the way, if you're wondering why this doesn't make sense, it's because I haven't filled it in yet.)

Hey, remember when we talked about setting up a blog?

TA DA!
TA DA, TA DA,
TA DA!!
Probably the only one who is immensely excited, but...oh well.
So, here is the here-to-for-withs:
This is the one and only official blog for our A.F. "sewing circle of supreme awesomeness"

I will take all ideas/projects that our e-mailed to me, inject my amazing whit and charm so as too make your idea oh so desirable, and then post the whole kit and caboodle here. Updates to the blog will be e-mailed to you so you don't have to be checking back all the time. But that's it, I'm not going to e-mail you with the stats for every project, that, my friends, is why we created this blog.

That covers my responsibilities. Here are yours:
  1. Become a follower of this blog
  2. E-mail me pictures and an adequate description of the project(s) you would like to do. Also, please state whether you would be willing to host your project or not (more on that later)
  3. Comment, comment, comment! The idea with the most comments wins! (or gets picked you see.) If no one comments, then the host picks. Also, if you see a project you want to do by a certain deadline, put that into your comment and we will be happy to oblige. You can also state your willingness to host in a comment.
  4. I'm not going to come right out and say you have to host...but, you do. Gwen and I refuse (refuse people) to host/prepare these things every time. It is just not fair. So, please, be willing to host your share of the festivities. (which may turn out to be just once a year or less) Keep in mind that the church is open (if schedule permits) And the hostess is allowed to specify time and place, along with monkeys or no monkeys. (However, if we are meeting in the middle of the day, monkeys are a given. NO EXCEPTIONS!)
  5. Be excited and be friendly. This is an open group, anyone is invited, so please invite them.
  6. If a hostess fronts the cost for a project you must pay her back before you leave! period.

Finally, as if this post isn't long enough already, here is how the blog operates.

  • To the right hand side at the top will ALWAYS be a spot on the current month's project. It will include a picture, the date and time, the place, as well as a link to the supplies and tools needed to complete the project.
  • Also, on the right hand side is where you sign up to "follow" this blog. (Click on the button that says "follow this blog")
  • All past projects, as well as project ideas, are categorized on the side by date as well as by topic. (keep in mind, right now that section is pretty much empty... since this is the first post)
  • Fun links are also listed on the right, this is just a smattering of the places we go to get our inspiration for fun things to do. If you have a favorite site that isn't listed, do tell.
  • When there are enough projects posted, a "cast your vote" thing will also be on the right hand side so you can pick your pick for the upcoming hooplas.

And that, for now, is it people!

Wait! There's more now:

Hosting a zoo: There are a few ways that this can work. We will go list format once again.

  • A host can volunteer herself and her project. ie. I say "hey, if anyone wants to do this, I'm going to do it at my house (or wherever), on this day."
  • A project can be picked and then a hostess can volunteer. ie we say, "hey everyone wants to do this project." and one of you says, "well, I can be in charge of hosting it at the church (or wherever)"
  • A host can be picked by default.. (hehe, my personal favorite) This is where y'all mention you would really like to learn how to do a certain project and I say "hey, so and so is really good at that." and then I call them up and ask them (nicely and with no pressure) if they would mind sharing their talents with the rest of us. And then they say yes.

By the way, we are calling our little meet and greets (sewing circle things) ZOOS on the blog now. (It goes with the whole monkey theme. Plus, that's kind of what it is when we all get together. Just thought I'd clue you in to the new jargon.)
